Guest Advocate (Cashier or Front of Store Attendant/Cart Attendant) (T1898)

Starting Hourly Rate: $18.75 USD per hour. Pay Range: $18.75 USD - $28.15 USD per hour.

ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT - Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption and growth of guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pickup and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

• Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
• Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

• Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

Typical Day / Responsibilities - As a Guest Advocate, no two days are the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
• When guests need assistance, engage with them in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
• Inform guests about current promos, store activities and events
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues and improve the guest experience
• Thank guests and let them know youre happy they chose to shop at Target
• Know and speak to Target Loyalty program benefits and assist with application or sign-up as needed
• Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with safety standards and company best practices
• Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
• Explain and demonstrate features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet
• Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and direct guests to enroll, activate and use these features
• Handle returns following register prompts; partner with leaders as needed to assist guests while following Targets policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area by tidying unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers
• Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible
• Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns and maintain a compliance culture while executing duties, including compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws
• All other duties based on business needs

• Communicating effectively, using positive language and attending to guests needs
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
• Attention to detail while prioritizing tasks
• Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Basics we expect

• Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed
• Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally without assistance
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and punctual attendance
• Must be able to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
• Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties including Drive-Up and carryout
