· Advanced knowledge of plumbing safety practices.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Oversee, assist and be responsible for all plumbing work and project team on specific projects as assigned. This may include providing project estimates, project management, tracking work orders, or resolving any plumbing tasks as needed. This is a working position that will be willing to take on a plumbing job when help is needed. Position requires a working knowledge of new commercial / residential projects. This position will work as a team lead, or as various projects require additional observation and guidance.
JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· Perform safety inspections and stay current on state and local plumbing codes and changes.
· Ability to communicate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and plumbing staff.
· Responsible for plumbing projects at new construction sites, maintaining pipes, fixtures, or other jobs as needed.
· Requisitions materials necessary for work orders and estimates time and materials costs on plumbing projects.
· Develops, oversees and continually refine plumbing preventative maintenance program.
· Troubleshoot plumbing system; diagnose / analyze / repair plumbing as necessary.
· Works from technical manuals, troubleshoot, and make repairs.
· Follow all safety, policy and procedures; report any safety hazards.
· Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.
· Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
· Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
· Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
· Perform tasks involving physical labor at building and heavy construction projects.
· Assure OSHA standards for job site safety.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· High School Diploma or Equivalent, such as an official GED.
· Valid Plumbers license or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in plumbing field that is directly related to duties and responsibilities as specified.
· Possess a valid driver’s license.
· Must be able to read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply and drainage systems.
· Be knowledgeable on current state and local plumbing codes and all changes as they occur.
· Critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.
