Citrix Administrator (Systems Analyst II)

Location: Austin, TX 78744

Duration: 12-month contract

Work Schedule: Standard Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (Must be onsite 4-5 days per week).

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Background Requirement: Must pass a satisfactory standard criminal background check upon hire.

About the Role

As a Citrix Administrator (Systems Analyst II) , you’ll support and optimize a large-scale virtual desktop environment using Citrix DaaS/CVAD and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) . You’ll ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing virtual services while collaborating with IT teams to deliver an excellent end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support Citrix DaaS/CVAD and AVD (host pools, session hosts, MCS/Autoscale, FSLogix, app layering, Workspace/StoreFront, Cloud Connectors, Gateway, policies, image lifecycle).
• Administer and harden Windows Server 2022 , including AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise patching/automation (PowerShell, MECM/Intune, basic IaC).
• Apply networking and security fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, ACLs, firewall rules, Azure NSG/ASG) to maintain secure, least-privilege connectivity.
• Monitor and optimize performance using Citrix Director/Analytics , Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics; perform incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain strong governance by following TxDOT change, configuration, compliance, DR/backup, and vulnerability management processes.
• Work directly with internal teams to troubleshoot issues, publish virtual apps, and support a consistent, high-quality user experience; participate in on-call rotation.

Minimum Requirements

• 7+ years administering Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Citrix DaaS, and/or Azure Virtual Desktop.
• 7+ years working with networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs/subnets, DNS, load balancing, ACLs, firewall rule management.
• 7+ years with PowerShell and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts.
• 7+ years monitoring/troubleshooting Citrix/AVD, Windows Server, and network environments.
• 7+ years Windows Server administration (AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, patching, enterprise operations).
• Strong technical documentation skills and experience working within change/incident management frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years with Azure network security, NIST 800-53, CIS benchmarks, or public-sector security frameworks.
• Certifications such as Citrix CCA-V/CCP-V/CCE-V , Microsoft AZ-104 / AZ-140 , CompTIA Network+ / Security+ , or ITIL Foundation .
