Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to work as an onsite, part-time teacher specializing in serving students who are blind or visually impaired in a K-12 school setting. The role involves working up to four days per week within a supportive educational environment focused on meeting the unique needs of visually impaired learners.

Location:

  • Rochester, NY

Duration:

  • Contract from January 12, 2026, through June 26, 2026

Schedule:

  • Up to four days weekly, Monday through Friday
  • Specific caseload and daily hours to be determined based on final placement and availability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with educational teams and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Utilize adaptive teaching methods and assistive technology to enhance learning experiences
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Maintain detailed records and reports as required by school policies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid New York State teaching license in Blind and Visually Impaired education
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with flexibility to adapt to caseload demands
