Leidos is looking for a Technical Writer to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. The ideal candidate will support the FAA Weather Camera Program.
The NISC contract supports the FAA across the country and we are seeking a technical writer with strong project management experience and technical knowledge to join our team. The candidate will be expected to champion each project and site development process, working with the Field Engineer to complete and validate site engineering packages, ensure complete and consistent documentation, and help coordinate projects across the engineering team. The ideal candidate will be one who is fastidious and thorough when adhering to our standards and requirements with a very strong inclination towards automation wherever possible.
Primary Tasks will be to:
Provide a comprehensive review and analysis of all aspects of system development including but not limited to mission needs assessment, system design, site selections, planning, deployment, site troubleshooting, and verification of system performance.
Work with Field Engineers to write and complete Project Documentation and overall project planning.
Write high level system and program documentation (SOP, Tech Manuals, Engineering Plans, Etc).
Understand the environmental and logistical challenges of different sites across Alaska, Hawaii, and Lower 48.
Able to work with remote team members and provide timely, clear instruction. This will require an in-depth understanding of system infrastructure.
Position approximately requires 10% travel.
