Our summer internship program is an excellent opportunity to tie what you have learned in the classroom into real-world experience. The program consists of an 11-week immersion into Werner Enterprises.
Internship Overview: - Paid internship that includes dedicated job training and learning opportunities
- Located at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska (some remote and off-site opportunities may be available)

Responsibilities: - Welcome and onboard professional drivers to Werner Enterprises, introducing them to the Team Development process
- Manage a portfolio of professional drivers, supporting them in finding a compatible team driving partner
- Facilitate conversations around key teaming factors such as home time preferences, compensation expectations, and adjustment to life on the road
- Build relationships with professional drivers through direct interaction, helping them navigate teaming decisions and contributing to long-term retention and satisfaction
Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to engage with people in a respectful and engaging manner
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Empathy and professionalism when handling sensitive or personal conversations
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative team
