Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 school in the Rochester, NY area is seeking a part-time onsite teacher specializing in Blind and Visually Impaired instruction. This contract position, available from January 12, 2026, through June 26, 2026, offers the opportunity to provide direct support to students with visual impairments up to four days per week within the school district.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational programs tailored to students who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student development and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State teaching license with certification in Visual Impairment.
  • Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in a K-12 educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of adaptive instructional methods and assistive technology tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize caseload responsibilities effectively.

Location:

  • Rochester, NY area

Schedule:

  • Up to four days per week, Monday through Friday, with exact days and caseload to be determined.

This role requires submission of a current resume and a PDF of your New York State teaching license for consideration.
