Join the Sid Jacobson JCC Summer Streeters team and help bring the magic of camp to campers ages 3- 13 years old.We are looking for enthusiastic hard-working individuals to work as Counselors at our Day Camp in East Hills, NY. Camp runs from Monday to Friday, June 30 th through August 15 th ; with pre-camp orientation in May and June.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily supervision of campers ages 3- 13, including supervising and supporting campers during various camp activities, trips, lunch, and swimming.
Become well-versed in all aspects of the camp program including but limited to health and safety protocols, camp values and goals, and the mission of the JCC.
Ensure that all safety procedures are strictly enforced, and any incidents are both handled and documented in a timely manner.
Communicate regularly with the Head Counselor and Camp Directors.
Come prepared every day to fully participate in camp activities including the camp swim program.
Actively participate in activities that commensurate with the abilities, limitations, and needs of all campers.
Foster positive relationships between campers, providing guidance and support.
Read and fully comply with the camp policies set forth in the staff guide that will be given at orientation, this includes rules and regulations, dress code, and emergency procedures.
Exude enthusiasm for camp values.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Camps Directors as need be.
Compensation details: 1700-2000 Yearly Salary
