Structural Steel Mig Welder

We are seeking a skilled welder to perform structural MIG welding on steel beams. The role involves blueprint reading, material selection, fabrication, measuring, cutting, and welding. The candidate will be responsible for making adjustments during the process and performing all layouts of materials. Comfort with tackling any directed task is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Perform structural MIG welding on steel beams.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Select materials for fabrication.
• Measure, cut, and weld materials together.
• Make necessary adjustments during the welding process.
• Perform all layouts of materials.
• Complete any directed tasks as required.

Essential Skills:

• At least 3 years of structural welding experience on steel.
• At least 3 years of experience in steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• AWS Certification is highly desirable.
• Experience in both structural welding and fabrication on steel is preferred.
• Strong capability to take and read blueprints independently from day one.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a typical fabrication shop that can get hot in the summer, but fans are provided to maintain airflow. The pace is fast, and the standard working hours are from 7am to 3:30pm, with the possibility of extending to 4:30pm for overtime. The workweek is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts if needed.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harvard, IL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
