Title: Store Manager

Department: Retail Store Division

Reports To: Regional Retail Manager

Location: Cooperstown, NY

Status: Temporary, Exempt

Supervises: Sales Associates

General Overview: The Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the designated location. This position is responsible for driving the retail sales through customer service and report development and analysis of monthly reports, inventory control and requisition for purchase of new merchandise. In addition, this position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, and performance management of exempt and non-exempt retail store employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the day-to-day operations of the designated retail store location is operating in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Upholds company standards for merchandise presentation.
  • Partners with sales planning team to ensure appropriate levels of product are available in store.
  • Ensures compliance to all guidelines involved with safety, loss prevention, and cash handling procedures.
  • Conducts the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for exempt and non-exempt retail store employees.
  • Coaches and mentors staff as needed. Holds staff accountable with appropriate counseling to those associates that do not meet the performance standards.
  • Performs all duties as assigned by the Director of Retail Operations

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:

  • Five (5) years of related management experience or a minimum of three (3) years store manager experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • High School Degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal / communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel

Working Conditions: General retail store environment. Must be available to work nights and weekends.
