Duties :  

The following are essential duties and responsibilities for this position:

• Monthly review of activity in the purchase price variance accounts (PPV) to identify trends and potential errors
• Understand and explain purchase price variance (PPV), in total and for specific product categories
• Review new and existing bills of materials (BOM) and perform cost rolls in SAP
• Assist with the calculation of obsolete inventory and lower of cost or market (LCM) reserves
• Assist with monthly variance analysis and explanations
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting of ingredient and packaging costs
• Assist with the analysis of plant waste and entry of waste standards
• Identify inefficient practices and deviations from best practices and make recommendations for change
• Identify process differences across the North America divisions and opportunities for consistency
• Develop and maintain documentation of departmental processes
• Assist with Purchase Order review/management for corporate expenses

Skills/Qualifications:

• Excellent accounting and analytical skills
• Proficient in Excel and Word; aptitude with computers and applications
• Strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Results oriented with a sense of urgency
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written

Education and Experience:

• • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • 1-4 years financial experience required
  • Experience working with cost accounting in an SAP environment is preferred

Working Conditions:

Based in Tampa with limited travel requirements
