We are actively seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter for an on-site, contracted position supporting secondary school students in the Bay City, Michigan area for the 2025–26 school year.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential 1:1 support to a student in an education setting, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity throughout their academic experience.

Position Details:

Start Date : August 11, 2025

Hours : 20-40 hours per week

Location : On-site at schools in Bay City, MI

Grades : K-12

Role Type : 1:1 student support

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpreting services between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL).
• Support a single student in academic and school-related activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure accessibility and understanding.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in all educational settings.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter - EIPA with score of 3.5+
• Alternative Certifications (Accepted for Employment):
• ​RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certifications:NIC (National Interpreter Certification)CI/CT (Certificate of Interpretation/Transliteration)
• CDI (Certified Deaf Interpreter), in some casesBEI (Board for Evaluation of Interpreters) certification (if transferring from another state)
• Experience in K–12 or secondary school environments preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Bay City, MI.
