We are seeking a self-motivated individual to assist with research studies on environmental, biological, and genetic contributors to depression and Alzheimer's disease.
This is an excellent job opportunity for any postbaccalaureate who wants to gain additional research, statistical, writing, and oral presentation experience before applying to graduate or medical school. In addition, the individual will have an opportunity to collaborate with researchers at Cincinnati Childrens Medical Hospital Center under the guidance of the PI.
Help with the daily running of the laboratory, including:
⦁ Ordering and organizing laboratory supplies and data records.
⦁ Sectioning of brains and performing immunohistochemistry etc.
⦁ Assisting with animal husbandry, including female cycling and rodent survival surgery (stereotaxic, ovariectomy, and castration).
⦁ Assisting with organizing data from relevant publicly available neuroscience databases
⦁ Assist the principal investigator with setting up behavioral assays to assess depression-like, anxiety-like, and cognitive behaviors in male and female rodents.
Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
