The Reference Test Clerk at LabCorp is responsible for preparing and sending laboratory specimens and test requests to reference laboratories, releasing test results into computer systems, and assisting clients with specimen-related inquiries. The role involves specimen sorting, data entry, maintaining record logs, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. Candidates should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and preferably experience in a laboratory setting.

LabCorp is seeking a Reference Test Clerk to join our team. This position will be responsible for preparing and sending specimens and test requests to LabCorp and/or contracted reference laboratory for testing, as well as releasing referral test results into the computer system.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing

• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems

• Send test requests to proper location and release test results

• Assist clients with any specimen related requests or inquires

• Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities

• Provide support to various areas of the laboratory

• Perform sample sorting, racking and retrieving

• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens

• Ability to accurately identify specimens

• Basic computer and data entry skills

• Strong communication skills; written and verbal

• Ability to work independently or within a team environment

• Well organized and a high level of attention to detail

• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

• Must pass a standardized color blindness test

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 12:00pm to 8:30pm

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
