Job Description

What You’ll Work On

At Reinforce Labs, we build AI systems that help make complex, high-impact applications safer and more reliable. Our work spans both sides of the problem: developing generative tools that expose weak points in existing workflows, and building intelligent systems that help human operators navigate uncertainty, scale judgment, and take action with greater speed and clarity.

This is a hands-on, deeply technical role. You’ll work on high-ambiguity, high-impact problems where the path isn’t obvious but the stakes are real.

Projects include:

  • Developing AI-driven probes to uncover edge-case failures in critical workflows
  • Building classifiers to surface subtle violations, risks, or anomalies
  • Training generative models that simulate rare or high-risk inputs
  • Designing systems that enhance human decision-making under pressure
  • Prototyping and deploying intelligent tools that help operators respond faster

We care about real-world outcomes. You’ll work across research and engineering boundaries, and ship tools that help protect people and platforms at scale.

Must-Have

  • Deep experience with machine learning (LLMs, NLP, RL, deep learning, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience training and shipping models in production
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Strong judgment and ability to move through ambiguity
  • Experience working across both research and software boundaries
  • Motivation to use AI to defend, not just to demo

Nice-to-Have

  • (a big plus) Experience with trust & safety, moderation, or security-focused ML
  • An advanced degree in computer science or a related field is valued.
  • Familiarity with LLM prompt attacks, jailbreaks, reward modeling, or eval tools
  • Experience building safety ops tools or automating nuanced workflows
  • Familiarity with Cloud based ML infra (Ray, SageMaker, W&B, etc.)
  • Knowledge of at least one systems language (e.g. C++, Rust, Go)
  • Publication in top tier conferences (ICLR, ICML, Neurips, ACL ..) or open-source contributions

Who We Are

Reinforce Labs is a small team with a clear mission: use AI to make critical systems safer, not just smarter. We move fast. We help each other. We take our work seriously and ourselves lightly. We don’t do politics, theater, or prestige. We build.

We value:

  • Technical excellence
  • Ownership and urgency
  • Clarity over noise
  • Being good to each other while doing hard things

You are:

  • Hands-on, curious, and driven
  • Honest and thoughtful under pressure
  • Obsessed with building things that matter
  • Humble enough to learn, and confident enough to lead

You are not:

  • Lazy
  • Political
  • Posturing
  • Coasting on credentials

Why Join Us

  • Build both offensive and defensive AI to test and secure real systems
  • Work on meaningful, high-stakes problems
  • Ship fast, own what you build, and see it used
  • Help shape a team and culture with high trust and high integrity

If this sounds like your kind of problem space, reach out. Show us something you’ve built—especially if it was uncomfortable, risky, or broke something important.
