As a member of the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort team, you will meet and engage with guests who have arrived to enjoy all the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer and help them experience our world-class amenities such as the state-of-the-art Wild Bear Falls water park.

Job Description

Under general supervision, ensure the safety of guests by preventing and responding to emergencies. A Lifeguard must have knowledge of water hazards, lifesaving techniques and first aid, recognize hazardous situations, and adopt effective courses of action. The Lifeguard must also have effective communication skills and engage positively with the public.

As a Lifeguard, you will:

• Ensure the safety of guests by maintaining constant surveillance; scanning, and monitoring of guests for the assigned pool or water park area
• Renders emergency care and contacts emergency medical services as necessary
• Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the facility
• Prepares and maintains activity reports
• Attends scheduled in-service training and follow all established safety procedures
• Assists team members with other duties as required

Qualifications

• American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, and AED Certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak effectively with guests and other team members
• Strong ability to recognize unsafe and hazardous situations and react properly
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
