This role involves working closely with pets and their owners, ensuring that each animal is groomed to the highest standards while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.RequirementsMust have 2 years of proven experience in a professional setting - we will verifyMust be able to work SaturdaysMust provide your own toolsResponsibilitiesPerform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and other pets.Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin, providing recommendations for care as needed.Handle pets safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during grooming sessions.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, including proper sanitation of tools and equipment.Communicate with pet owners about grooming options, pet care advice, and any observed health concerns.Provide excellent customer service to foster strong relationships with clients and their pets.Assist in managing appointments and scheduling for grooming services.SkillsDog grooming techniques with a strong understanding of various breeds' needs.Experience in dog training or handling to ensure safety during grooming sessions.Background in veterinary experience or as a veterinary technician/assistant is highly desirable.Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint techniques.Familiarity with equine care is a plus for those interested in working with a variety of animals.Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for larger breeds or equipment.Previous kennel experience or pet sitting will be beneficial in understanding animal behavior and care needs.
