General Operations Manager - Electrical Construction

A leading regional electrical contractor with a legacy of delivering large-scale infrastructure and vertical construction projects is seeking a results-driven General Operations Manager - Electrical Construction to oversee electrical construction initiatives throughout the Central Texas market. This leadership role will focus on healthcare and institutional projects, supporting a high-growth pipeline including upcoming high-profile developments in partnership with major academic and medical institutions.

Focus:

  • Provide strategic and operational oversight for all active and planned electrical construction projects in the San Antonio metro area and surrounding markets.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget across projects valued from $7.5M to $10M annually.
  • Develop and execute regional growth strategies in collaboration with company leadership, ensuring scalability and continuity.
  • Foster and manage relationships with key clients, including owners, developers, and institutions, securing repeat business and new opportunities.
  • Mentor project managers, field leaders, and support staff to elevate technical and leadership performance across teams.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant safety, labor, and quality standards on job sites.
  • Drive profitability by managing resources, labor forecasting, subcontractor performance, and material procurement.
  • Conduct project audits, performance evaluations, and risk assessments to ensure operational efficiency and cost control.
  • Represent the business unit in executive meetings and communicate progress, projections, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.

Skill Set:

  • Proven leadership in managing large-scale electrical construction operations, ideally in healthcare, higher education, or other institutional markets.
  • Deep familiarity with the construction ecosystem in the greater San Antonio area, including established relationships with general contractors, developers, and local trade partners.
  • Minimum of 7 years in an executive-level operations or project management role within a specialty electrical contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects with a combined annual value of $7.5M–$10M or more.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required. Advanced business or technical degrees (MBA or MS) are a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical detail and executive-level decision making.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Central Texas region, with a primary base in the San Antonio area.
