Job Description

We are seeking a highlyskilled and dedicated Sports Medicine Physician to join our teamCentral/Northern, NH, NH. This position is open to physicians with a backgroundin Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or Family Medicine with aspecialization or additional training in Sports Medicine. As a Sports MedicinePhysician, you will focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention ofsports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. Your expertise willcontribute to the overall health and well-being of athletes and activeindividuals of all ages. Our team is well-establishedin the hospital, but we also have 4 outpatient clinics in the region. We are the largest Orthopedic group inNorthern NH!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensivenon-surgical care to athletes and individuals with sports-related injuries ormusculoskeletal conditions.
  • Conduct thoroughevaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, anddiagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) to accurately diagnose sports-relatedinjuries and conditions.
  • Develop personalizedtreatment plans based on individual patient needs, utilizing non-interventionalapproaches such as physical therapy, exercise prescriptions, medications,bracing, and other conservative interventions.
  • Collaborate with athletesand active individuals to enhance sports performance through injury preventionstrategies, nutrition guidance, and exercise programs.
  • Coordinate and superviserehabilitation programs for patients recovering from sports-related injuries,ensuring optimal recovery and return to activity.
  • Educate patients aboutinjury prevention techniques, sports safety measures, and provide counseling onmanaging chronic conditions, promoting healthy lifestyles, and optimizingperformance.
  • Collaborate with amultidisciplinary team, including orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists,athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensivecare and support for patients.
  • Engage in clinical research,stay up to date with the latest advancements in sports medicine, and contributeto the field through publications and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) orDoctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification ineither Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) or Family Medicine.
  • Completion of a SportsMedicine fellowship program accredited by the Accreditation Council forGraduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association(AOA).
  • Valid medical license topractice in the state of New Hampshire or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Prior experience innon-interventional sports medicine is preferred but not required for highlyqualified candidates.
  • Proficient in diagnosing andevaluating sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, andother members of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to collaborate andwork effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
