Structural Steel Estimator Wanted – Detailing Background Preferred!
Are you an Estimator who speaks the language of steel down to the last connection detail? We're looking for a Structural Steel Estimator with detailing experience to turn complex drawings into precise, competitive bids for fabrication projects.
Why This Role Matters:
Your expertise will bridge the gap between design intent and fabrication reality – ensuring bids account for every beam, bolt, and weld while maximizing our competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Analyze structural steel drawings & specs with a detailer's eye for constructability
✔ Quantity takeoffs focusing on fabrication efficiencies and material optimization
✔ Cost modeling incorporating:
Ideal Candidate Profile:
✅ 3+ years estimating structural steel fabrication
✅ Detailing background (experience with Tekla, SDS/2, or AutoCAD)
✅ Fabrication knowledge – understands how shop processes impact costs
✅ Proficient with Bluebeam, estimating software (WinEst, B2W, etc.)
✅ Technical communicator who can explain constraints to GCs
