Job Purpose

As an entry-level mechanical designer, you will support a dynamic team focused on developing and integrating equipment into Honda facilities. Your role will involve taking projects from concept to completion, ensuring that designs meet target criteria and are optimized for success.

Key Accountabilities

• Design automated production equipment solutions for assembly and installation in our facilities.
• Collaborate within an engineering team to understand design requirements and modify equipment accordingly.
• Provide on-site support for installation and system optimization of production equipment.
• Maintain a critical path schedule for design deliverables to meet project milestones.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure standards and specifications are met.
• Continuously learn and apply new engineering skills and technologies relevant to manufacturing.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience through Co-Op or internships in your field, or 2 years in designing automated equipment.
• Familiarity with 3D CAE systems and software.
• Background in automated equipment development.
• Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.

Decisions Expected

• Utilize core engineering practices to create machine concepts that meet target criteria.
• Conduct detailed process studies and tooling designs.
• Review equipment during shipping evaluations to ensure design criteria are met.

Working Conditions

• 90% Office environment for documentation creation.
• 10% Manufacturing floor for line-side investigations and support.
• Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and internationally as needed.
