Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. As a DSP, you will work closely with clients to promote independence and ensure their well-being in a respectful and supportive environment.

Duties

• Provide transportation from individual's home in Dublin to place of employment in Peterborough
• Monday - Thursday: flexible schedule
• Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Monitor client health and behavior, providing timely feedback to healthcare professionals when necessary.
• Support clients in social activities and community engagement to foster inclusion and personal growth.
• Educate clients about their rights as residents and empower them to advocate for themselves.
• Provide first aid as needed and maintain a safe environment for all clients.
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Personal care to include some or all: toileting, dressing transfers, medication monitoring/administration if needed (training provided)

Requirements

• Previous experience in patient care or home care is preferred
• Understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles
• Ability to perform patient monitoring effectively
• LNA or relevant experience a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
• Certification in First Aid/CPR is desirable
• A genuine passion for helping others and promoting independence
