Position Overview
The Design Assistant, Footwear & Accessories will provide essential support to the design team, helping bring SKIMS’ vision for footwear and accessories to life. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn and grow in a creative, collaborative environment. The Design Assistant will assist in all stages of the design process, from concept development to production, ensuring smooth workflow and timely execution.
Key Responsibilities· Assist in researching trends, inspiration, and competitive market analysis for footwear and accessories.
· Support the creation of sketches, technical flats, presentation boards, and seasonal design materials.
· Help prepare and maintain detailed tech packs, spec sheets, and color/material standards.
· Organize and track design samples, prototypes, and development swatches.
· Partner with Product Development and Merchandising teams to ensure smooth communication and timely updates.
· Assist in fittings, meetings, and sample reviews, capturing notes and following up on action items.
· Maintain design archives, libraries, and organizational systems for reference and seasonal planning.
· Support the team in preparing for seasonal design presentations and internal reviews.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all designs align with brand identity, quality, and innovation standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise· Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
· 1–2 years of internship or professional experience in design, preferably in footwear and/or accessories.
· Strong technical skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with CLO3D or similar software a plus.
· Excellent organization and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Passion for fashion, design, innovation, and the SKIMS brand.
· Collaborative mindset, willingness to take initiative, and eagerness to learn.
