Pine Valley Market in Wilmington, NC is looking for a Culinary Director/Sous Chef to join our team. We are located on 3520 S College Rd. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and takes initiative.

Job pays $18, plus tips - depending on experience. $24.00/hr for catering jobs. Benefits

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist with food production for Cafe, Catering and Market
• Maintain quality control in all areas of food production
• Motivate, lead and direct staff
• Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
• Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
• Assist Chef/Owner and General Manager in all aspects of kitchen.
• Be a team player and excellent customer service
• Create new products and menu items seasonally
• Create daily specials a mitigate food waste

Qualifications

• Experience working with food in commercial kitchen
• Comfortable giving direction and redirection
• Poised and confident, able to comfortably interact with clients and customers
• High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
• Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
• Physically able to lift at least 50 pounds, bend, squat and stretch.
• Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
• Banquet experience a plus
