The Criminal Investigator is responsible for coordinating and completing highly complex and sensitive criminal, civil, and administrative investigations involving alleged misconduct, criminal activity, and/or corruption by CBP (Customs and Border Protection) employees and related entities. The role includes leading or supporting investigative activities proactively or reactively under the jurisdiction of CBP OPR (Office of Professional Responsibility). This position starts at a salary of $88,621.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $137,000.00 (GS-13, Step 10), with promotion potential to $137,000 (GS-13, Step 10). The listed salary reflects the U.S. scale and will be adjusted based on locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.
