Capabilities include coatings and pigments for thermal and signature control, precision optical measurement services, reflectometers, spectral imaging systems and custom engineering services.

Summary : Surface Optics Corporation is looking for a Manufacturing Technician I to join our team. The core responsibilities of this role is to assist in the production of space flight hardware through the operation of web handlers, cleaning and maintaining vacuum chambers, and providing as-needed support to production and process engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist senior staff members in the manufacturing process.
• Operate production equipment, including web handlers and vacuum coating chambers.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure that products meet established quality standards.
• Assemble and package products according to established procedures.
• Record accurate logs of production activities, including data entry and simple report generation.
• Comply with ISO9001/AS9100 standards to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and products as needed.
• Assist in cleaning and repairing vacuum coating chambers and equipment.
• Collaborate with other team members to improve processes and optimize production efficiency.
• Participate in training sessions to learn about new processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Mandatory attendance for all-hands SOC safety, security and HR meetings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate production equipment and perform simple calculations with ratios, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

Experience Level:

• 0-2 Years (Entry Level)
