Job Summary The Clinical Pharmacist, reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Operations or Clinical Pharmacy Manager, provides pharmaceutical assessment, treatment and care for the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent patient population served. The pharmacist, proficient in the required skills and competencies, is responsible for monitoring drug therapy, providing drug information, consulting with medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals to deliver high quality, cost effective pharmaceutical services. The pharmacist coordinates workflow of the department and directs activities of pharmacy technicians. Pay Range Minimum $70.92 Midpoint $93.97 Maximum $117.02 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements. Qualifications Required One year of clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care setting B.S. Pharmacy degree or Pharm.D. from an accredited college or university BLS/PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire/transfer. ACLS required within 1 year of hire Proficient in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) Knowledge of State and Federal laws Ability to supervise and instruct others in pharmaceutical work Analytical skills to determine the appropriateness of drug therapy and the correctness of the dosage, and ability to evaluate drug interactions, ADEs, and allergic reactions; organizational skills necessary to coordinate departmental activities Pharmacist Advanced Cardiac Life Support Basic Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support Preferred Experience in a pediatric acute care setting Completion of an ASHP-accredited hospital/clinical/pediatric residency program (PGY1 and/or PGY2) Knowledge of the current trends in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, and toxicology as they relate to drug therapy in the neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patient population Work Environments & Physical Requirements Work Environments - Functional Demand: Medium - High energy level; Lift and carry 40-50 lbs; Push/pull +/- 150-200 lbs (patients on bed, stretcher); Lateral transfer 150-200 lbs (e.g., patient). Physical Activity Requirements: Bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, push/pull, reaching forward/overhead, sitting, squat/kneel/crawl, standing, talking or hearing, taste or smell, twisting, walking, wrist position deviation. Physical Activity Lifting: Various percentages indicating level of effort for floor-to-waist and waist-to-shoulder movements. Sensory Requirements: Color discrimination, depth perception, far vision, hearing, near vision. Environment Requirements: Airborne/communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, chemical exposure, dust/particulate matter, extreme noise levels, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces or elevations.
