Chief Supply Chain Officer

The San Diego VA Healthcare System is currently recruiting to fill the Chief Supply Chain Officer located in San Diego, CA.

This position is responsible for the development and integration of a supply chain that ensures the logistical requirements of the VA Health Care Systems and supported catchment areas are met. Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Overseeing, guiding, and managing supply chain operations across the organization.
• Planning and coordinating fiscal, acquisition, clinical and administrative operations.
• Establishing, monitoring, and managing the performance and measurement of logistics functions.
• Conducting logistics audits and compliance reviews.
• Managing all activities involved in supply chain management.
• Linking major business functions and processes into a cohesive and high-performing business model.
• Forecast planning and budget execution for supplies, equipment, inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation, and distribution.
• Leading and participating in regular meetings to ensure logistics needs are met.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Telework: Not applicable. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized for a highly qualified applicant relocating to the San Diego, CA commuting area. Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not authorized. Permanent Change of Station (PCS): May be authorized for a highly qualified applicant relocating to the San Diego, CA commuting area.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/24/2025. Time-in-grade requirement: Applicants who are current federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13.
