Job Description
Bronx Senior Center seeks to hire an Activity Trip Driver to work 35 hours per week.
Transport homebound elderly clients to and from various destinations as required, i.e. senior centers, senior residences, cultural/recreational activities, shopping, etc.
Escort and assist elderly and infirm clients from apartments to vehicle and back, if necessary.
Ensure the safety of the passengers through the use of seat belts, wheelchair brackets, and/or other safety devices.
Assist in the scheduling of routes.
Assist senior passengers in boarding and disembarking the vehicle safety.
Provide support to seniors with mobility issues, such as helping them with walkers, or other assistive devices.
Ensure that seniors are comfortably seated and securely fastened in their seats during the trip.
Complete daily passenger log for submission to the Director.
Oversee maintenance, repair, and cleaning of vehicle (gas, oil, and changing tires) to maintain the vehicle in good and clean operating condition. Inspect vehicle daily and report structural or operational defects immediately.
Maintain gasoline and mileage records daily.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director.
Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B/C with Passenger Endorsement .
Three years of driving experience in NYC, no more than one moving violation in 24 months, and no DUI convictions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Monday to Friday
8 am - 4 pm
